The Lee County, Florida Citizen Corps will give our county an organized way of expanding opportunities for our citizens to provide volunteer services.

  • It will add volunteer capacity to the emergency response resources of our county.
  • It will help strengthen our ability to prevent crime and terrorism and respond to emergencies.
  • It will help all of us feel more secure.
  • It will build a stronger bond between all the organizations in our community that are dedicated to making Lee County a better place for all its citizens.
  • And it will enable us to respond constructively to the President's request for a more coordinated approach to homeland security.

Citizen Corps is coordinated nationally by the Department of Homeland Security/Federal Emergency Management Agency. FEMA also works closely with the Corporation for National and Community Service to promote volunteer service activities that support homeland security and community safety.
